I am sooo very proud of my students and their performances of "Munsch Mania". You guys rocked it! Thank you to all the parents and grandparents that came to watch!
We had a great Education Week loaded with activities. We were entertained by some junior students sharing their persuasive arguements for cheetahs and spiders; we had reading buddies with Mrs. Kline's kinder class; we enjoyed making our Canadian symbols, the mountie and the Native American salmon, out of recycled cardboard and magazines; a lot of us were at the muffin breakfast and open house, featuring an Ozobot stem challenge question; Constable Munro, an RCMP officer, gave us a great presentation; we had popcorn day and French bingo with many winners. Check out some of the pictures below.
EDUCATION WEEK RUNS FROM MAY 1ST TO 5TH.
Make sure to visit us during the Muffin Breakfast and Open House on May 4th! All St. Clare students are working on giant symbols related to Canada to create an amazing and unique art display in the gym! This collaborative activity includes: an environmental aspect by re-using cardboard, magazines and cereal boxes; a math aspect by completing different measurement activities; some technology by our Tech Club; and some research to find out the significance or fun facts about each symbol the classes have choosen!

Check out the new page titled, "Curriculum Expectations" under the math tab. It gives a simple and clear overview of what your child should know by the end of grade 3. It also includes sample problems for each strand. These problems are good examples of concepts your child will need to understand to be successful with EQAO testing at the end of May. We are progressing well through the curriculum, however, extra practice at home always helps. Don't forget to let your child practice using the "prodigy" math site. It is an excellent site that supports their learning!
Students enjoyed an afternoon session with Scientists in the School and learned a lot about bridges! We also had Mrs. Polcar in for an afternoon to give the students hands on experiences with soil! The students are patiently waiting for their bean seed experiment to take root!
